In receiving a 6.57-million-Swedish-kronar ($1.06-million) grant from the Swedish Energy Agency, Volvo has proven their dedication to the creation of more fuel-efficient vehicles. 7 Volvo Models with CO Emissions Below 120 g/.62 mi.

Eco-conscious Volvo drivers have a growing number of low-carbon-footprint vehicles from which to choose. Recent additions of low-emissions vehicles include the Volvo S60 and Volvo V60 available in especially economical DRIVe versions. These vehicles produce CO2 emissions of just 114 g/.62 mi. and 119 g/.62 mi. respectively.

With the Volvo S60 and V60 DRIVe models, there are now a total of seven different vehicles with CO2 emissions below 120 g/.62 mi. And, three of these models actually boast emissions below the 100 g/.62 mi. mark.

Battery-electric cars are definitetly picking up in popularity but there is one large drawback that set's them apart from other vehicles. Their short driving range compared to their gasoline or diesel powered counterparts is much shorter. In an effort to overcome this dilemma, Volvo is initiating development of a hydrogen fuel cell that is expected to increase electric cars' driving range by up to 155 mi.
