Volvo to Produce Diesel-Electric Plug-In V60 for European Market

Volvo is embracing the green movement like never before. Our favorite Scandinavian automaker recently announced plans to create an electric version of the ever-popular Volvo C30, and now they're preparing to produce a Diesel-Electric Plug-In variant of their European-exclusive wagon, the Volvo V60.
We here at Freedom Volvo are quite thrilled for what this means for the vehicles you'll find on our lot. While the Volvo V60 won't be making its way onto our lots anytime soon, there's still a chance that the technology seen to create an electric Volvo could make it into a model found here in the United States. Just imagine an electric version of the Volvo S60 or Volvo C70? See why we're excited?
So far no specs of the upcoming electric wagon have been released, but Volvo claiming that the vehicle will be able to travel roughly 30 miles on electricity alone, not unlike some other plug-in electric hybrids that have been hitting the road recently. What's more impressive, however, is the fact that Volvo is also claiming that when running on a mixture of gasoline and electricity, the vehicle will hit an unheard of 124 miles per gallon!
