Battery-electric cars are definitetly picking up in popularity but there is one large drawback that set's them apart from other vehicles. Their short driving range compared to their gasoline or diesel powered counterparts is much shorter. In an effort to overcome this dilemma, Volvo is initiating development of a hydrogen fuel cell that is expected to increase electric cars' driving range by up to 155 mi. The Leaf by comparison runs approximately 100 mi. per charge.
